Lyrics born Jevon Kisean Paul was born January 11th, 1984 at the Port of Spain General Hospital .Lyrics the youngest of three boys, found himself already submerged in the musical fraternity by the age of 12. Drawing influence from Spragga Benz and Sizzla, he combines his talent and his everyday success to continue developing and revolutionizing his musical style. Lyrics strives to fuse the widely revered and well-loved beats of Reggae with R&B and Hip Hop beats in order to expand into the Dance Hall and Cultural Reggae scenes. Truly blessed with vocal talent and dynamic stage presence, Lyrics continues to make crowds move to the Dance Hall Rhythm in new ways. At the age of 15, Lyrics made the move to Washington, D.C. and attended High Point High School. Because of D.C's booming Hip Hop scene, he was able to establish a solid foundation in catchy and innovative beats, while his native Trinidadian culture supplied a strong Caribbean flavor. Receiving enthusiastic responses to his outstanding lyrical freestyle abilities, Lyrics soon joined forces with other aspiring teenage artists to form a group they called M.D.K. With their unique sounds, M.D.K. managed to defy genre categorization, as each member drew from a myriad of different musical influences. Completing a single for JaQuzzi Records (On the Radio) not to the surprise of their peers, they received radio play. Since then, Lyrics has performed at the University of Maryland's Reggae Fest and Virginia Tech C.S.A. He has also made special guest appearances on WPGC's 95.5 radio station in D.C., BET's Tropical Beat, and on the MHZ1 show. Performing with a multitude of the most well-known headliners in the industry like, T.O.K. Baby Cham, Lexus, Beenie Man, Bounty Killer, Spragga Benz, Benjai, Elephant Man, Mr. Easy, Ghost, Bling Dawg, Lady Saw, Warrior King, Capelton, Macka Diamond, Assasin, Buju Chuck Fenda, Sizzla, Mad Cobra and many more, Lyrics continues to raise eyebrows and keep people dancing. Lyrics unfathomable potential has forced him to grow from a brash teenage phenomenon into a self-assured DJ, singer, and songwriter. Approaching a stage of maturity as a gifted musician and mellow performer, Lyrics aspires to be a visionary producer and entrepreneur, with hopes to spread his music across the world .
