Mr. M

BandFolkJazz

Folk rock with a touch of jazz that is as exciting as any guitar based band and the grace of any jazzy ballad.

Biography

folk rock with a touch of jazz that is as exciting as any guitar based band and the grace of any jazzy ballad. Influences include radiohead, tom waits, m. ward, beck, miles davis, Jurassic 5, cake, and ghettoblasters. I'm different because I want to explore writing many different genres not just folk, and I'm not afraid to slow down songs so everything can be heard.

Lyrics

Little Bird

Written By: Mr. M

little bird fly away home
wolves are watching
wherever you may roam

bugs in the ground
nest in the trees
flowers won't grow
unless there's a seed

Little bird don't go to sleep
lions are trapped
inside of your dreams

on a street corner
in the middle of the town
there's an open window
but the phone lines are down

Smoke billows over the trees
lightning strikes the sea
these lighthouse lights
won't save those ships tonight

Almost Home

Written By: Mr. M

She waves to the scarecrow as she wanders down the road.
a flower dress to look her best where shes going see don't know.
she's had better days as she walks among the graves. she says
skeletons unearth your old-fashioned bones
dirty card tricks and jigsaw tones
fall into the ocean you're tied to a stone
put a foot in the grave and your almost home
The silvery moon lights up this town of ours
she lays in the garden and catches all the stars she's had better days as she walks among the graves. she says
skeletons unearth your old-fashioned bones
dirty card tricks and jigsaw tones
fall into the ocean you're tied to a stone
put a foot in the grave and your almost home
