Marcus Young

“Baptized” in music before he was born, Marcus Young knew the sound of music at an early age. He was raised in an environment surrounded by music under the influence of his father, Steven Young, who is a music teacher and an accomplished musician. It’s no surprise that Marcus is a master at playing multiple instruments.

Marcus is playing out what he was born to do – deliver pure soulful melodic and inspirational songs infused with Jazz rhythms. “Groove Jazz” as Marcus calls it.

He’s young…he’s fresh…he’s talented and stands at the threshold of becoming a musical great. His invasion in the music industry has already begun. Just weeks away from releasing his debut CD, homegrown talent Marcus Young, known on stage as “Mr. Young”, is ready to take the music industry by force.

A singer, songwriter, composer and musician, Marcus has been blessed to share his God-given talent with people around the country and abroad. Marcus has worked with the likes of Kurt Whalum, Marcus Miller and Steven Hurd. I want my music to reach a mass of people…break age, language and religious barriers.”

Marcus is a one-man show. His debut project, entitled, “Sit Back, Relax, And Listen To The Music” promises a great future. The project is self-produced and a creative talent filled with instrumental sounds, uplifting vocals, and promotes an atmosphere that’s easy on the ears and soft on the heart. It features songs like Be Free and Your Voice that describes his style, complements his age, and are in tune with a generation accustomed to Hip Hop, R&B and Rap.

Currently residing in Fort Washington, MD, Marcus studied briefly at M.T.S.U. and P.G.C.C. He is a graduate of Friendly High School. He attends Mt.
