A SOUTHERN STORM OF STYLE AND SWAG

Mrs. Dolla Artist Bio

“Learn to live life to the fullest and fly high with feeling.” - Mrs. Dolla

It's a hot, humid summer day in Georgia. Now, just imagine trying to outrun one of those big-time thunderstorms that blow through the southern skies. You can't. The best you can do is take cover and enjoy the show. It’s the same way with the pure unbridled power of one truly exceptional singer, songwriter and performer. Her name is Britney Solomon.

Britney is better known as, Mrs. Dolla and she grew up in a small town called Baxley, in rural Georgia. You can bet your bottom dollar that no one can outrun her power. Mrs. Dolla’s potent blend of urban R&B, pop, and hick-hop is like a southern storm of style and swag.

The artistic evolution from Britney Solomon into Mrs. Dolla began when she was just a child. “My parents had a performing music group for years, and that had a huge influence on me,” she explains. However, it was at church services where she first experienced the thrill of vocal performances. She watched, mesmerized, as soloists and the choir performed. At the tender age of nine, she was the one out front, performing as a vocalist at her church.

As she became a teenager, she taught herself drums, and dabbled in songwriting. However, God’s House proved to be the spot of another crucial turning point in her career. In her early teens, she met a talented musician at church who would eventually become her husband. They combined their musical abilities giving Britney access to his musical skill set in production, as well as state-of-the-art equipment. You could say it was a match made in Heaven.

In 2008, Britney began performing outside of the church and began experimenting with other genres of music that she listened to as a child and teen. “I listened to everything ... Michael Jackson, Missy Elliot, R. Kelly, and all the new-school stuff. But, I was even old school artists like Teddy Pendergrass and Al Green,” she explains. As Mrs. Dolla, she released her first mix tape in 2012, and it yielded some early success.

“Still My Baby,” was the first single she dropped to radio. It received attention and airplay, making her a headliner at the Fair Shot Music Festival in Atlanta. During 2013 and 2014, Mrs. Dolla continued releasing singles from her debut with Dr. Dolla of DDP Entertainment and began working with Hustle Hard Phil from HustleHard Group Entertainment. Her music gleaned new attention, giving her the opportunity, to work beside A-list artists such as Lenny Cooper, Lomax Spaulding, The Lacs. She has songg=s with rammy nominated artist 12 Guage, Shop Boyz, and Khujo Goodie of Goodie Mob. She wowed the crowds with her rendition of the National Anthem at the famous Slopoke Mud Boggin in Eastman, Georgia.

In 2015, Mrs. Dolla realized that she was ready to begin work on her first full-length album. Her stylistic evolution was complete. The years of experience with mixtapes and mastering different genres gave her the ability to please almost any crowd. “I aim for an uplifting sound that makes anyone want to dance or sing along,” states Britney. She gave a sneak peak of her album debut by releasing “Don’t Keep Me Waiting,” in the autumn of 2015. The song showed off her vocal prowess and songwriting skill in a full-bore deliver of power-pop and urban R&B.

In 2016, Mrs. Dolla began to write and record more songs for her upcoming album which will feature songs with a stylistic synergy of genres. “My first full-length release will stick with my creative goal of music with a message and emotion that reflects life's real situations.” Many traits make Mrs.Dolla stand out. She has vibe, verve and versatility. It’s no irony then, that she has chosen her album to be called Versatility, and hopes for a release by early 2017.

Mrs. Dolla dances to the beat of her own set of drums and no other drummer. She sets out to conquer, saying, “I never want to get stifled; I need to be everywhere, never in one spot.” She is a lot like that thunderstorm that wows you on a hot summer day. Mrs. Dolla equals power. You can bet your bottom dollar that you can outrun her, but you’ll lose this chase … she’s a southern storm of swag and style.
