Bio
Mia Tarley is from New York City and Peter Schmader is from Cleveland. They met in Baltimore a few years ago in a love-at-first-sight kinda way. Mia was here working on a neuroscience PhD at Johns Hopkins. Peter ran a popular coffee house and arts venue, El Rancho Grande. Mia resigned from the doctoral program. Peter closed the coffee house. They formed the band, moved to New Orleans, then returned to Baltimore.
Mrs Maki was a woman very close to Peter when he was a child.
They've played clubs and bars in New Orleans and Baltimore, been featured on New Orleans radio station WWOZ and Baltimore's WTMD. They've opened for Fat Possum Records artists Water Liars.
They have an EP, "Know Your Ghost," recorded at Beat Babies, in Woodstock, MD, and released this past December.
They recently recorded a single, "Tell Me" b/w "Feel," with Jordan Romero (Shy Violet). The single is going out to Abbey Road Studios for mastering.
