Bio

“When people hear good music, it makes them homesick for something they never had, and never will have.” – Edgar Watson Howe

Mrs. Johnston is a five-piece group of hard working, ambitious, charismatic, fun young men from the Niagara Region. The band consists of Brothers, Danny and Kyle Lamb, their cousin Jay Ashcroft alongside close friends Graham Morley and Jay Baty.
The band has worked through numerous difficulties, including Ashcroft leaving the Niagara region to pursue a post-secondary education however they remain passionate with a solid foundation and love of music.
The group’s intricate harmonies are backed by numerous chord progressions, melodies and singing techniques that are beginning to reside in a Pop/rock style; pushing their alternative style to the next level. Mrs. Johnston continues to push the envelope with their constantly developing sound.

Mrs. Johnston recently recorded their debut EP in Toronto. Produced by Jay Baty, former student at Metalworks in Mississauga and bass player of Mrs. Johnston. The group is stoked to release the disc digitally and by hard copy before the new year.

The CD features such songs as ‘The Simple Things’ that was recorded, in April of 2010, by respected musician/producer, best known for his musical experience on the popular television show ‘Canadian Idol’, Mark Lalama. The boys spent months in the studio with Mark, working on pre-production.

The group also recently shot a music video for ‘The Simple Things’ in Toronto as a promo for the Hydrocephalus and Spina Bifida Association of Toronto. The Associations of Scotland, Australia, Denmark, the US, and Canada are also interested in posting the song and video on their websites. The song will be available to download on Itunes as a single and a percentage of each download will be going directly to the Hydrocephalus/Spina Bifida Association in Toronto.

Mrs. Johnston have played shows all over Southern, Ontario. Cities include Toronto, Hamilton, St. Catharines, London and Guelph area. The band has made appearances with such bands as The Junction, Winter Gloves, Hunter Valentine, Mother Mother, The Ataris, Street Pharmacy, The Years, Michael Wainwright (back up singer for Tears For Fears and opening act of their recent world tour), and many more.
