Mira Black reflects a diverse set of musical influences and eclectic background while demonstrating a clear musical solubility. Combined are the familiarity of folk, the vibrancy of pop and the sensibilities of jazz. Trained on the roads and back ally bars all across Canada, this powerful alto emotionally attacks every project and shares her heart each and every time. Mira spent her youth travelling to music festivals, college stages and large arena concerts opening for the likes of Sarah Mc The Crash Test Dummies and Blue Rodeo. Her lead vocals will Winnipeg acid folk band Acoustically Inclinded put her picture in the Winnipeg Art Gallery as well as on the minds of thousands of Canadian music listeners. Her amazing vocal skill and mesmerizing performances are only surpassed by the truths she writes about in each love song. Mira's life thesis is the subject of love and one in which she would a PhD if life gave out doctrits. Complementing Mira’s soulful, emotive three-octave range are Gilles Fournier on bass, Scott Senior on percussion, Brian Zimmerman on guitar, and Bob vandenBroek on trumpet and flugal horn. The group will play a mix of original compositions and contemporary arrangements of works by Canadian songwriters (Joni Mitchell; Bruce Coburn) and jazz standards twisted up just enough to keep your ears perked, your minds thrilled and your heart yearning.
