Tony Townsend, p.k.a Mr Universal was born in Scottsboro, Alabama. At the age of two, he and his family relocated from Scottsboro to Huntsville, Alabama to Mason Court Projects and later at the age of four, moved to Harvest Projects and by the age of fourteen was living in Terry Heights Projects.
Life for a young Tony was troubling and challenging, resulting in time spent in prison. It is this turning point of his life that afforded him time to focus on his passion for music and it is this experience that he uses to corn his genre of music as "Gansta R&B"
Mr Universal currently resides in Huntsville, Alabama.
