Mr. Wright: A musical psychologist that is representing the voice of men's pain as well as happiness. His goal is to make men aware that one man's problems are shared by many. He believes that men must help, understand one another, grow together and guide the world to a better place.

Biography

Up until the age of 12, Mr. Wright was influenced by a historical club in Nashville, TN, the infamous New Era Club. Many great acts have left a legacy there, with such artists as BB King, Gary Jenkins (of Silk), and Sandra Wright, just to name a few! Some of his influences include Michael Jackson, Donnell Jones, Al Green and his mother Sandra Wright.

His musical roots are from a line of musical artists on his mother’s side, going back to a famous distant cousin, Peter Chapman Jr. aka Memphis Slim. As well as another cousin Jethrow Bledsoe, back in the dayz with a famous Gospel Group by the name of The Spirit of Memphis Quartet.

Mr. Wright’s first singing experience was in Nashville, TN at Inglewood Baptist church in a choir. In 1989 thru 1991 he gained formal experience and discipline in music by participating in the Maplewood High School Band. From grade school to high school he learned how to play just about every brass instrument, the Trumpet, Trombone, Baritone, French Horn and of course, the Tuba. His ability to hear music was so keen he began to write and manipulate the music for the brass section his senior year. Also in 1989 he was in a rap group called the Posse In Effect (P.I.E. for short). During this time his stage name was Triple D-1, named after a drum machine. He produced and developed the music and beats for the group. During the early rap movement, his motivation for writing slow rhymes came from LL’s “I NEED LOVE” track.

He writes music based on other people as well as his own life journey, and it was through his music he learned of his destination and realizes that he writes and sings to represent the voice of men’s emotions, happiness, strength and determination. It was then he established him self as the real Mr. Wright!!

He’s a lil bit of Hip Hop, Old school R & B, Blues and Hype all in one

Simply, He just wants to rock da house!

Daddy’s Anthem (radio version)
(Written & performed by Mr. Wright)

INTRO:
Yo! This is Mr. Wright and I’m dedicating this song to all the fathers who are going through so much pain just to love their child. This is for you.

1st VERSE:
This song is not for you good moms out there.
This one goes out to the moms that don’t care.
And to the dads, who just ran away, turn around and stay.
Do it for your child.
If you’re a father and you’re not with your child,
concerned and hurt…no energy to smile.
Wondering how your baby is doing everyday.
Brah I feel your pain.

BREAKDOWN:
Every time I call my baby she’s rarely at home.
When it’s my turn to get her she looks different cause she has grown.
My son don’t want to talk. He want say a word.
Cause mommy told him not to talk about the things he’s seen or heard.
Even though I’m not his DNA father. It don’t mean a thang! He still calls me Daddy. See to him that’s my name.
If you’re a man who loves his child and you feel what I’m saying. Wave your hands up in the air.
Let the bad mommas know that we know they don’t care.

CHORUS:
We are D. A. double D. Y.
We got to be strong for the sake of our child.
I don’t care what the mother tries.
Even though she’s wrong. We got to do what’s right.
We are D. A. double D. Y.
We got to be strong! Strong! Strong, strong, strong, strong!!
I don’t care what the mother tries.
See I don’t care what the mother tries. The child and I both, we both been victimized.

2nd VERSE:
It’s so hard for us good DADDIES to be strong.
She’s using the child to get to me and that is wrong.
Why you want let me know who’s in their lives?
What do you have to hide?
I really don’t care what you do with your man or men.
Just don’t act crazy around my kid or kids.
And who are you to tell me how to love my child?
For me she acts good.

BREAKDOWN:
She said you keep trying to control me.
When I ask about my kids.
I want let anything hurt them.
Year 2k you almost did.
Aw now you want to bring back!
You damn right! You seem to forget!
It’s bad enough you got the courts thinking that DADDY ain’t shii…ewww!!
A child needs their mommy!
And also their dad!
Just send me my money!
Oh you’re trying to make me mad!
I don’t care what you say! Just respect me as their dad.
And when I call don’t try to trip in front of your friends and act mad at me!!

CHORUS:
We are D. A. double D.

BRIDGE (DADDIES AND KIDS SING’N TOGETHER 2x):

Daddies:
Daddy will always love you and I hope you love me to.
Kids:
Daddy I love you and I know you love me to.

CHORUS:
We are D. A. double D. Y.
We got to be strong for the sake of our child. (Fades out)

DADDY:
I LOVE YOU BABIE.

DAUGHTER:
I LOVE YOU TO DAD.
