"A veteran Bay Area performer who has been twice nominated "Best Female Vocalist" at the South Bay Blues Awards, Collins is a confident and warm-voiced singer who can effect a Chaka Khan-like soul sound in one song and a throaty blues sound in another"

Bio

Ms Taylor P Collins was born on Friday the Thirteenth of February in Norfolk, Virginia. She grew up in a strong Southern Baptist atmosphere where gospel music was a way of life. Her Mother Mrs. Ethel Garner was and is still very instrumental in Taylor's musical upbringing, as well as her Uncle George whose jazz influence is prevalent in Taylor's music.

Taylor sang Rock and Roll for a number of years before finding her niche in Blues. Her style of Blues is sophisticated, powerful, and funky with jazz overtones presented with a style reminiscent of days in our not so distant past. She has performed at such prestigious events such as the Monterey Bay Blues Festival, San Jose International Jazz Festival, Blues and Art on the Bay, and the AT&T Golf Tournament in Carmel Valley. Her debut appearance on the Main Stage at the Monterey Bay Blues Festival was a SELLOUT!!

Ms. Collins has also opened for the international jazz legend John Handy and the legendary LaVerne Baker. She has performed in the company of industry luminaries and legends like her dear friend Miss Ruth Brown, Etta James, the Neville Brothers, Albert Collins, James Cotton, Kenny Neal, JC Smith, Barbara Morrison, and Jefferson Starship.

Taylor is truly drawing attention to herself with her classy stage presence and an eight piece band that boasts a riveting four piece rhythm section and a unique all female 4pc horn section called The First Ladies of Horn...watch out for Taylor in her first indie feature film "Nectar" which will begin production soon..she is truly on the rise!!!
