Through our Discovery Project competitions, Insomniac aims to give a voice to undiscovered talent and to open the door for those striving for greater exposure. We also hope to demonstrate that the most memorable experiences are often those that aren't planned. If you walked into the Upside Down Room on Friday or the Wide Awake Art Car stage on Saturday and found a world of incredible new music from DJs you'd never heard of, then we've done something right.
"It felt like a dream come true, like I was a part of the Insomniac family. Like I was at home." MSTREX also claimed that performing at Nocturnal Wonderland "felt like home."
The Discovery DJs have seen a great deal of new support since playing at Nocturnal Wonderland. "Over that weekend we gained 1000 new fans on Facebook and over 200 new followers on Instagram, MSTREX watched "the whole Northern California EDM scene" turn their attention towards him since winning the competition and now has four tracks in rotation on CBS's Movin' 99.7 HouseNation, the "#1 EDM radio show in Northern California."
A strong and supportive bond has been forged between Insomniac and the Discovery Project winners. We expect many opportunities to arise out of these new found relationships, from gigs and bookings to recordings and signings. Today we're proud to announce that Monstergetdown, whose bouncy tech house style brought loungers to their feet and our entire camera crew to the stage, will be opening the Mad Hatters Hospital at Escape from Wonderland on October 27th!

MSTREX (Pronounced Mr. X) has been writing and producing music for 12 years and is largely influenced by REM & Radio Head although he mainly writes pop-electro-house records that he DJ's for live performances.
MSTREX has played festivals in Miami, Ibiza, San Francisco, Los Angeles. and New York for the past three years with shows that typically sellout between 1500-5000 units. He performs four times a month.
During the summer of 2012 MSTREX was selected by Insomniac events to perform at Nocturnal Wonderland in So-Cal with over 40,000 in attendence.
MSTREX has a solo debut album scheduled for release in the summer of 2013 and with great fortune plans to distribute 18,000 units independently within a year.
Sept 28th 2013 MSTREX performed for over 200,000 in attendance at Insomniac events: Beyond Wonderland at Shoreline Amphitheater and performed his smash hit "Rasta Must Be Deeper" Ft. Junior Kelly
