Bio
Dumisizwe Vuyo Bhembe, hails from Swaziland, a tiny nation nestled between Mozambique and South Africa. From childhood, he learnt to make and play homemade guitars, flutes and drums made of discarded milk tins, boxes and anything else that he could find. Those baby steps eventually led to playing with Jabali Afrika on stages such as the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympics Utah, and with other artists at Les Francofolies de Montréal 2009 and more.
As a member of Jabali Afrika, Dumisizwe has toured extensively, entertaining the young and old throughout the United States, Canada and St Lucia among other nations, and along the way making waves in national and international media. Having moved to Canada in 2006, his musical journey unfolds, and he has found a new love composing for theatrical plays, in such smash productions as Tablêau D’hôte’s 2011 production of “Humans”, and Teesri Duniya’s 2012 production of “Where The Blood Mixes”. As he so often says, the journey continues without tarry nor sojourn. Yebo!
