"Walk, senderos, and sow your seeds."

To talk about MU and not about the importance of the "passage" would be to limit life to its transitority. Surely, there would be much more behind the door…
Inconformed, they rose.
They reinvented colors and flavours and, sharing affection, they decided to go in search of dreams. Deeply in sintony with earth, they danced in circle.
They traveled on donkeys’ backs on the paths of Sendim. They enjoyed "Andanças", they were kings in "Arribas" and "Sin Fronteras" and generated "Mundanças".
They were, are and will be MU, nomads by thought, musicians by passion, true friends.
Five years have passed and they grew more mature, their roots are burried deeper, watering them with the purest water and their tradition bloomed.

They asked me to talk about MU and I was compelled to talk about gratitude.

Walk, senderos, and sow your seeds. - Paulo Mosqueteiro

Bio

Mu is a mythical continent, another lost Atlantis in the Pacific Ocean, remote alleged origin of ancient civilizations, like the Egyptian, Assyrian, Indus Valley or the pre-Inca Peru. Perhaps thats question to which this Portuguese group aims to answer.

Since its birth in 2003, Mu has always sought to merge and experience, based on traditional music, many styles. Its members play the most diverse artifacts, coming from the four corners of the world: Sweden, Greece, India, Egypt, Brazil, Morocco and Australia (didgeridoo, morharpa, riq, darbuka, bouzouki, berimbao, bulbul tarang...).  With the music, Mu makes a journey through lost worlds, which retrieves and updates. At the stage, Mu creates a moment of contagious joy, the energy travels through the air and invades the bodies, impelled to a never ending dance.

Mu has three disks, and Casanostra, Mundanas (Carlos Paredes 2009 prize), and the Folhas Que Ardem (burning leaves). They have performed at major music events in Portugal, Spain, Indonesia, India, England, Eastern Europe... The six members of this group have a very clear objective: to make the world dance. And they are people who meet their goals.

Line-up: Osga: bulbul tarang, d  idgeridoo, percussion, jaws harp; Helena Madeira: voice, dance; Ruben Monteiro: guitar, bouzuki; Nuno Encarnao: congas, riq, darbuka, other percussions; Andreia Baro: accordion; Sandra Martins: violoncello, clarinet; Hugo Lima: photos.
