Feeling a bit camera shy

Together since January of 1999 and with influences and sound ranging from Neil Young to the Allmans, Coltrane to Davis, Phish to Black Crowes, Howlin Wolf to Traffic and all points in between, Muddy Gumbo has been creating with a solid basis of 'songs' first and jams second...and live it all comes together. With a funky Latin feel from the percussion, there are no limits to the sound creations. From acoustic to hard rocking electric, Gumbo has been able to make their own unique way.
Scott took home Musician Deserving Wider Recognition at the 2003 Review Awards and was nominated for Songwriter of the Year, Squirrel took home Instrumentalist of the Year, and Muddy Gumbo was nominated for Best Funk Band all at the 2003 Awards. Not knowing where to place the band, the awards were won under the Blues catagory.
Muddy Gumbo is once again up for three Review Awards in 2004. Scott is up for Blues Songwriter of the Year; Squirrel is up for Rock Instrumentalist of the Year; and Muddy Gumbo is up for Blues Band Deserving Wider Recognition. Awards show is on April 26, 2004.
Through numerous line-up changes, the band has been based around the music of Baker and Squirrel since the beginning. The band has opened for modern blues legend Larry McCray many times over the years and has done the same for CCR (Revisited) as well.
