"Afro Porteno Latin Grooves"

“Argentine world beat musician Mukele crosses boundaries with a blend of powerful funk, soulful RB vocals, jazz grooves, striking Brazilian candomblé, scorching Afro-Latin percussion and the ubiquitous dj scratching. Mukele is the artistic name of an Argentine guitarist who spent some time in the United States and later in Brazil, where he fell in love with its African rooted rhythms. Mukele's lyrics are in Portuguese, English and Spanish, creating a trans global environment. Mukele's music is on the cutting edge of creating a tasty musical stew”

- World Music Center

"Roling Stone, Argentina"

A curious and exuberant cross between styles (funk, jazz, rock, hip hop) with percussion and a lot of groove that brings honor to an African meaning of “Mukele:” a mythological animal with immense proportions. - Roling Stone

"Jazz Life"

“With the rhythm of urban American soul, mixed with the knowledge of modern jazz and Afro-Brazilian music, the band is from Buenos Aires! Guitarist from Buenos Aires? The sound is like a experiment of scales and tones used in modern jazz mixed with the tradition of American music, creating a positive self identity. The percussion in communion with the scratch of Japanese descendant DJ Kuroki uses the candombe and modern grooves...”

- Jazz Life Magazine

In 2010, Mukele edited his second album ¨Quylombo¨ with Chana Records and is available in various music stores and online (Itunes,
eMusic y Napster). May 3, 2010 Mukele was interviewed on the show “From the Bottom” on Music Channel Television (CMTV). There he described Quylombo as a place " where sounds, colors and tastes fuse together."

In 2006, he edited his first album, Ubuntu with Suramuisc label. That same year Ana Utrero (Spain) and Ximena Talento (Argentina) edited and directed the video clip “Tribo” from the album.

In 2000, MuKeLe was a member of the Black Rock Coalition with his band Standar in the United States. He participated in the compilation cd “The Bronze Buckeroo Rides Again,” together with other artists such as: Veron Reid of Living Colour and Dave Fiuczinsky of the Screaming Headless Torsos.

Guitarist from the southern suburbs of Buenos Aires, fuses genres of soul, R and B, funk, freejazz and Cuban religious music (with respective permissions and blessings). With a style that MuKeLe calls: Latinamericangrooveandsoulfood.

Mukele constantly evolves within the realms hip-hop, funk, and soul (soul food), founded in the elements from an urban universe and modern jazz, but also reaches back to the ancestral sounds of the congas and batas in search of his own roots, in an intimate game of distinctive notes.
