Bio

His sound is urban/hip-hop, Mula Izzy’s music pulsates with so much energy and emotion it compels you to stop and ask who is Mula Izzy?
The award winning Rocky Mount, NC native has been creating quite a name for himself. With Mula’s highly anticipated album “More Mula More Problems” due for an early 2012 release, Mula has been staying busy recording music and performing to further build his worth. Infleunced by Michael Jackson, LL Cool J, and Will Smith, Mula says his love for music began by singing in the church choir at an early age. While in middle school Mula began playing the trumpet and credits that for him learning melodies and harmonies. Once he entered high school Mula then joined the marching band and says that’s where he learned to mix rhythm with his music. Mula started recording music in his dorm room at Shaw University in Raleigh, NC in 2007. Entering and winning his 1st showcase in 2008 Mula continued to perform at open mics and talent showcases around NC and Virginia to perfect his craft for entertaining.

In 2009 Mula recorded his 1st single titled “Booty Talk” with super producer Spade from Richmond, Virginia, a smooth, mellow, go-go inspired record. The record was featured on popular coast to coast mix tape hosted by recording artist Maino. Continuing to perform Mula then showed his versatility and dropped the energetic/club record titled “I Do It”. With this record Mula began attracting club promoters and started to become opening acts for various recording artists (New Boys, Pleasure P, Travis Porter, OJ Da Juice man, Princess, Wacka Flocka, etc.). Entering a popular showcase in his hometown hosted by super producer Manifest Mula placed 3rd and caught eyes around much of NC. Continuing to tear up the clubs it was no surprise when “I Do It” was nominated for “Single of the year” at the 2010 “North Carolina Underground Music Awards” in Greensboro, NC.

With this motivation and finding his art for Club/ hip hop inspired music Mula followed “I Do It” with the uptempo/dirty south club record titled “Wilding Out”. Literally taking over every party he performed with this record Mula won “Best New Artist” for 2010-2011 at the Carolina Music Awards in Raleigh, NC. Mula then got selected to perform in front of Source magazine in Morrisville, NC. Catching the eye of the worldwide Fleet DJ’s Mula became selected to record their first single titled "Back It Up" along with recording artist Yung Berg and YG. The dance/club record is gaining a lot of attention for Mula.

Continuing to perform, record, network, and release mix tapes to show the industry he’s working, “More Mula More Problems” is on pace to be a classic debut in 2012!
