"Music Connection Magazine - July 2004"

These rockers play youthful and energetic skater-punk, reminiscent of mid-Nineties bands such as Less Than Jake, the Vandals, Homegrown and Face to Face. Their newest album, Straight on till Morning, would be the perfect soundtrack for any skate or snowboard video. In fact, it would not be surprising to hear this act featured in the next American Pie movie.

Musicianship: These guys are different from other pop and emo bands that merely play simple power chords. Michael Lozano weaves skillful guitar leads with Victor Campos’ heavy rhythms and brother Frankie Lozano’s driving bass lines. Upon listening, without even knowing their names, it’s obvious that Mullet is a band made mostly of brothers. Their familiarity helps them present a tight live show that almost sounds recorded. Drummer Adam Lozano sets up the rhythm and vibe with a dynamic performance.

Performance: The high energy of Mullet’s show was enhanced by the band’s stage theatrics. Despite a broken ankle, Michael Lozano rocked out onstage more audaciously than most frontmen can. His performance was just shy of circus contortionism. While seated in a wheeled office chair with his ankle propped up, he shredded on a guitar he held behind his head. Mullet projected its abundant enthusiasm with infectious excitement.

"Skinnie Magazine - 5 STARS"

I haven't heard "happy" punk rock this good since
back in my glory days when I used to go see the
Vandals, Assorted Jelly Beans, and Homegrown at
the Barn in Riverside. The opening guitar riffs in
‘No Bueno’ made me want to dance..." 5 stars

...I liked it a lot. Other than giving them an A in
the originality department, I'd also like to congratulate
them in their songwriting abilities.... - Jimmy Clinton - Jan 2004

"...the most promising pop/punk band to come out of Riverside County in the past year..." Marissa Enriquez Reporter - Javier Perez

"Skinnie Magazine"

The first annual Rawksgiving benefit concert
at the Showcase Theater in Corona
was a multifaceted success organized by
Frank Lozano, father to members of the
local band Mullet. The show featured the
bands All In All, Stalking Roxy, Elseworth,
Aurees and of course, Mullet and raised
both cans of food as well as awareness of
the Second Harvest Food Bank. Fans
showed the true Christmas spirit by loading
up five large containers with canned
food items. “I feel we did make a dent in
[raising] awareness of the potential synergetic
powers of local bands and local
businesses,” said Lozano. With donations
from generous sponsors which included
Infinity Music Instrument Company,
BC&A Property Management, LBEI
Electrical Contracting, Tom’s Farms, Goat
Eyewear, Kiko Productions, Sounds
Like…, Pharaoh’s Lost Kingdom, Photo by
Pharley, Inland Empire Medical Imaging,
and Backwoods Bar B Q., Lozano got a
chance to play Santa by giving away an
extraordinary amount of raffle prizes. Tshirts,
stickers, skateboards, along with
C.D.s, gift certificates, and even a
Marshall acoustic/electric guitar were in
his bag that night, and it seems that no
one left empty handed. “The bottom line
is I hope this will fuel the fire for others to
want to be part of the 2nd annual, and
the third, fourth…”

Bio

Brothers Michael, Frankie, and Adam Lozano along with Victor Campos are Southern California Inland Empire’s premier skate punk/metal/ska and zany entertainers known as the band Mullet. Their music has been described as “Green Day meets Mad TV in a WWF ring” whose humor and power guitar-riffed “hooks” has caught the intrigue of an impressive SoCAL Inland Empire (IE) following. Their latest release titled "Straight On Till Morning" received a 5 star rating on Skinnie magazine (Jan 2004).

WWF? Yes! Their obvious love of wrestling radiates with WWF-like antics such as jumping on top of each other from ladders, breaking chairs across the beefy bass players back —all while pounding out their rhythmic songs to a frenzied crowd! Now that’s entertainment!

Influences range from Queen, Rolling Stones to The Ataris, Weezer, Green Day and the Hippos.

Mullet has played throughout Southern California from the Sunset Strip to San Diego to Mexico--many times filling tour buses with fans wanting to share the Mullet experience!
They have also taken the time to perform free shows for benefactors such as: The Children’s Hospital Foundation in LA, Friends of Chino Hills Library, and Fender Guitar Museum’s "Kids Rock Free" program, which provides free musical instructions to youths.

They have been Featured in articles by: LA TIMES (September 6, 2002), Press-Enterprise (July 11, 2001) and various music magazines.
