Bio

Munich Syndrome was born at an intersection where British & German Electronic-Pop, A Grade-B Sci-fi movie and the D.I.Y. attitude of punk and new wave collided for a dazzling moment of "What if..."

A bedroom experiment that began with a couple of synthesizers, a drum machine and no expectations slowly gave way to more equipment (and for better or worse) some expectations.

The first efforts were starker and more electronic along the line of early Soft Cell, Human League and Depeche Mode. Recorded on a Tascam Porta-Studio, the compositions were played in real time (with the exception of a simple drum machine) and then bounced down to make room for overdubs.

As time and technology advanced, rudimentary sequencing programs were experimented with, but it wasn't until Apple and Logic were adopted as the working environment of choice, that Munich Syndrome come into focus.

Using a wider variety of keyboards (analog, digital, sampled) the sound palette expanded from mono-synths to embrace a wider range of sounds including jazz, world, ambient and even some acoustic.

Stylistically broader in range some of the newer tracks are along the lines of Delerium, Art of Noise, Patrick O'Hearn, Hybrid and on the other end of the spectrum Daft Punk, Kraftwerk or Blank & Jones.

Some of the tracks have been posted on sites such as GarageBand and SoundClick and have done well in a variety of charts: Jazz, Euro Pop, Ambient, Experimental, New Age, Trip Hop, Electronica, Pop Instrumentals, Techno and Dance.

At it's heart Munich Syndrome is an Electronic Pop band that explores various musical styles from Down Tempo, Trip Hop & Ambient to Synth-Pop, Dance and Electro.
