Bio

BIO- murderfly started by four guys coming together to create music in the early part of 2009. these four being on guitar/todd teal, on bass/tim greear, on drums/bennie donald and finally on vocals/bo dinkins. after a few short months, we had enough music composed together to try and play out in front of a live crowd. with some well recieved home town gigs under their belt, murderfly branched out and played a few orlando shows. with every show it seemed this train would gain more and more speed along the way. but in sept of that same year, murderfly would go on hold with the sudden departure of its drummer bennie donald. it would take three short months to pass until bassist tim would find the answer to this problem, in the oddest place you could imagine to find the new driving force behind murderfly… that answer would be in the name of ben bassett, in the musicians search of the space coasts area craigslist ad. only needing two weeks before his official audition, ben came into the murderfly warehouse ready to throwdown. and throwdown he did! after a quick run through of one song musically, all three members just looked at each other and knew that the new piece of the puzzle had been found! taking the end of 2009 to rebuild and come together, murderfly would emerge with new energy and a purpose in 2010! the month of march would find the return of bennie donald to the murderfly fold but this time he would be weilding his guitar skills. recording a short 4 song demo in april, murderfly would roll on through 2010 finding opening slots infront of national bands like Drowning Pool and Nonpoint with many headling local clubs on their own. but the start of 2011 would bring way to the departure of guirtarist todd teal from the group pushing them to move forward as a four piece. never one to slow down, murderfly would continue on gaining more and more fan base and recognition from the local metal community. but after the summer time, murderfly would see the unfortunate departure of its second drummer ben, and the arrival of its third drummer justin nichols and in november of that same year its newest second guitarist john stafford. with the new pieces firmly together like the fist of doom, murderfly as a band look forward to the things to come in 2012! when asked what we sound like, Each band member of Murderfly having a WIDE variety of influences that come together as a MASTERPIECE we can only call “MURDERFLY”! (Music for BAD MUTHA FU*KERS!)
