Invisible Tear

Written By: Murray R. Wilde

My contribution to the 'Singers, Songwriters and Musicians Unite Against the Fur Trade', and a voice for those who cannot speak.

VERSE I
Animal kingdom is the empire of man
The sword dominates the lion and lamb
Long ago we all were born free
Saved by Noah from the raging sea

VERSE II
Today it's a battle for us to survive
Reality now is just staying alive
A law was written before time began
As animals vanish so too will man

CHORUS
We feel the pain, don't you realize
We suffer like you, listen to our cries
Living with sadness, dying in fear
Nothing is left but an invisible tear

VERSE III
Do you feel comfort, warmth from within
From our fur that covers your skin
Body and soul, a reason to live
Flesh and blood we unwillingly give

VERSE IV
Is there an answer that will justify
Why some are loved but others must die?
Fashion dictates a barbaric trend
Creation of life comes to an end

CHORUS
We feel the pain, don't you realize
We suffer like you, listen to our cries
Living with sadness, dying in fear
Nothing is left but an invisible tear

BRIDGE
Listen people, please take the time
Uncover the truth of unspeakable crime
Not one life should ever be lost
Do what you can whatever the cost

CHORUS
We feel the pain, don't you realize
We suffer like you, listen to our cries
Living with sadness, dying in fear
Nothing is left but an invisible tear

Nothing is left but an invisible tear.

The Longing

Written By: Murray R. Wilde

"reminiscing about the good old days"

Verse I

I'm longing for the time I was just a lad of ten
Days were filled with happiness, I remember when
I'd ride my bike alone at night, never had a fear
My folks were never worried I might disappear

Verse II

Explored the city sights touring thru the town
All the smiling faces as the wheels went spinning 'round
The dollar bill I made that day bought all I'd ever need
A theatre show, a lunch to go, a comic book to read

[instrument break]

Verse III

No concern I'd lose a job or if my health would fail
War and crime were all a part of a movie tale
Food and water gave us strength, didn’t cause dis-ease
Air we breathed was full of life as it whistled thru the trees

Verse IV

Mother's only worry was I'd be late for school
"Say your prayers my son, don't forget the Golden Rule"
Times have passed, happy days are a fading memory
Hard to live a life today that used to be carefree

[instrument break]

Verse V

This feeling helps me overcome a world that's gone astray
I'll hold these thoughts so dear to me knowing that one day
In another life I'll be that boy once more
I'll relive those precious years as they were before

[instrument break]

Verse VI

As I lay upon my bed, my final hour is near
With loved ones close I whisper "please don’t shed a tear,
we'll meet again someday, that's how it's meant to be"
All God's children's souls live on for all eternity

Verse VII

I'm longing for the time I was just a lad of ten
Days were filled with happiness, I thought they’d never end
As my lifetime drifts away to a deep and restful state
A smile appears ... upon my face ... now I know my fate.

[instrument break]

The Voice In My Head

Written By: Murray Wilde

VERSE 1
A voice is whispering in my head
I know that something's wrong
The message keeps repeating
that you just don't belong
This time I won't ignore the call
and hide myself away
I'll face the voice that's echoing
all the things I couldn't say

PRE-CHORUS 1
I trusted you with my best friend
I've heard I'm on the losing end

CHORUS 1
There's a voice in my head, a storybook that led down the path of discovery
Your plan to deceive, it wasn't make-believe but a clue to reality

VERSE 2
I had switched off all my senses
the wheels spinning in my mind
Didn't see where the tracks led
to the danger sign
You said I was the special one
my heart held everything
All it feels is emptiness
and the loneliness it brings

PRE-CHORUS 2
The strangest tale I ever heard
The truth can often sound absurd

CHORUS 1
There's a voice in my head, a storybook that led down the path of discovery
Your plan to deceive, it wasn't make-believe but a clue to reality

CHORUS 2
The voice in my head, a movie script that read about a crime that you pulled on me
I know that you lied, conscience is my guide and the voice solved the mystery

VERSE 3
I could not see the forest
the trees had grown so tall
Now I stand above them
watching as they fall
There is a door to paradise
I thought you held the key
I should have listened to the voice
that lives inside of me

PRE-CHORUS 3
My future's coming into view
Amazing what the mind can do
