"Band review - 8/1/13"

So first up, we have the erudite, elegant post-punk of GRASSHOPPER. These guys are pretty new on the scene but they already have a very developed sound and songs of real craft and melody. They are on first so be there as early as possible to catch these young bucks rock the fuck out of it - DRUGS, Brighton promoters

"EP review"

startlingly young indie band from brighton have blown our minds with this accomplished & considered, brooding indie rock ep.
with influences from classic indie, '80s new wave & post-punk, fuelled by that inimitable energy of youthful exuberance, grasshopper prove there's plenty of talent to come in brighton's musical future with an ep that puts bands with twice their years & ten times their bank roll to shame. - Resident Records, Brighton

Transmission EP - 27/10/12

Formed in March 2012, grasshopper are a gang of four - two boys, two girls - Javi (guitar/vox) Luis (bass) Emily (guitar) and Rachel (drums). We are ages 11-15, but if you're good enough, you're old enough! We've played nearly 20 gigs in the last 10 months (including the Green Door Store, Latest Music Bar, Blind Tiger Club, Volks Nightclub and Pavilion Theatre, amongst others.) In October 2012 we recorded and released our demo EP, funded entirely by money from our gig ticket sales. The EP has sold well in Resident Records, Brighton. Being able to record meant we could add to our live sound, with other varied instruments, such as an omnichord and glockenspiel. All our songs are entirely our own creations!
