"36 Bands to watch out for"

Powerful drumming, melodic harmonies, funk bass, catchy melodies: Just about any aspect of the music of [Oliver] could cause an unsuspecting listener to stop and immediately get sucked in. It’s not bouncy or poppy, but it nonetheless has just enough mainstream universal appeal mixed in with so many other elements that one cannot help but be completely compelled. The music is very dense- the musicians give the audience an awful lot in just four minutes, but the songs never feel crammed, and instead cascade from one intense moment to another.

It is the energy- sometimes frantic, sometimes smooth- that carries the songs from beginning to end, and carries the listener right along with them. Not to give their music the sentimental label of “moving,” but what you here really does move you. They take off, and you can’t help but go along with them for the ride. Their songs seem to throw you around with them-up on every urgent note, along every elegant melody, down a fleeting riff, a perfect storm of grand, bold energy that somehow remains controlled- no matter how expansive and dynamic it becomes, it is never lost on the audience that the four members are in perfect control of their instruments.

[Oliver] started between three friends (AJ,Brandon,Dave) with a un-restrain able love for music and its creation. The friends had met at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro where Dave's older brother was already in attendance. In hopes of solidifying something beautiful, Jonny was asked to sign on as the drummer after several loose knit jam sessions. After they attained their degrees in may [Oliver] moved to Orlando Fl in August of 2008 in search of a better music scene. I mean...What's not to love about three black guys and japanese dude rockin out?
