"arbogast falls"

It's gorgeous and lyrical, beautifully melancholic and string Indeed!... Morricone-esque, alt.folk influenced balladeering and soundscapes...It really is beguiling.
- Time Out London

"Live review"

“..on stage, the band push their music's dynamics to the extreme, veering wildly from ‘straining to hear anything’ to ‘I think my ears may bleed!’ ….. an intriguing combination of late Fahey, The Swans and AMM” - Diskant

"Soundtrack"

“A powerful, atmospheric soundtrack”
( BBC radio 5 - “Arbogast Falls” was recently used to soundtrack the BBC radio production of Pete Johnson’s “We The Haunted”) - BBC radio 5

Bio

Music of Seville were formed in 2005 by brothers Stephen and Mark Roberts, and bass player Tom Ruppel. Combining the depth and strangeness of folk music with their own compositions and with a free form, experimental and improvising approach to performance, they quickly gained a reputation for intense and powerful live shows, often augmenting the core group with strings, brass and miscellaneous bowed, hit and plucked instruments.

The sound of the band has evolved over time and listening to them now you’ll hear dark, avant folk combined with swathes of feedback, tape loops, drones and improvisation. Always at the heart of the noise though, lies a set of haunting and fragile songs carried by a beautifully cracked and compelling baritone.

The current line up is Stephen Roberts - guitar and vocals, Mark Roberts - drums, keyboards, tape loops, vocals, Philip Trwoga - bowed electric guitar, treated lap-steel, banjo and Richard James – bass and trumpet.

They are currently touring in support of their new album “Arbogast Falls” (ART902) and working on an EP to be released early 2007.
