Bio

Randy Roy grew up in Union, Maine. Music has always been in Randy's blood since the age of ten when he first started playing the guitar. Over the years he has traveled and played with a few artists and been influenced by them as well as others. His influences include James Taylor, Michael Johnson, Don McClean. After playing on the road several years ago Randy's life took a different turn and he settled down and raised a family.

Randy currently resides in Lansing, Michigan. Since being in Lansing he has mainly been playing christian and folk music. Being involved in the music ministry at Pilgrim United Church of Christ is the main focus of his music. At Pilgrim Randy plays with the "The Messengers" and sings in the church choir. Randy's main goal of his music is to assist people on their journey to be more like Christ. Giving back in as many ways as possible and living a life of service are Randy's motivations.

Randy's music includes songs that captivate the heart and soul to songs that make audiences want to get up and move. His lyrics are from the heart and express the joys and struggles in our journey to be more like Christ. Randy views life as a journey where every day we strive to be more like Christ. Some days are better than others but we must constantly evolve since we will not be exactly like Christ until we meet him.

Randy's humor is an important part of who he is and plays an important role in his ability to interact with audiences of all ages. His background of having done a lot of different things in different stages of his life contributes to his ability to see the world from a variety of views and his writing reflect this. Randy says that having lived in his life to the fullest and having come to grips with his spiritual relationship relatively late in life gives him a sense of gratitude every day for the things God has sent his way.
