Mute is Murder

Mute is Murder is the brainchild of Gary Howe, a young Dublin based musician who spends half of his time in his home studio recording. When he is not doing this he is rehearsing in the same studio with the other members of Mute is Murder working on a their live show. The music the band records is composed by Gary but also sometimes features the other members under his conductive supervision. A la Zappa or Reznor. Mute is Murder formed and started rehersing in their home studio in Dublin in 2004 and have been performing together live since May 2005, although their debut album "Army of the Twelve Junkies" was already in production for quite some time before then. Mute is Murder is a band that is not afraid to experiment, drawing influence from an awesomely broad musical spectrum. Elements of a rock sound akin to Pink Floyd is fused with electronics that have a hint of the vibe of Coil. Dance styles such as Drum n Bass, Dub, Electro and Massive Attack style Trip Hop are also never shy of mingling with their sounds. The pallete is purposly diverse so as to create a unique sound for the band, but this is all tied together and unified into the band's own unique trademark sound. For the time being the band has set up its own small label to release their debut disc and spread their music. The second Mute is Murder album release is now in production, entitled "Earth at the Eye of Alignment" and the band is currently playing songs from this release aswell as a couple of songs from their debut release.
