"Mutiny on the Bounty Review"

'Incredible guitar riffs, supreme melodies, great songs and long names. They blend emo in the positive sense of the word with indie and postrock plus core as in hardcore.I had already heard that New Romance For Kids from Montreal was a good Label but this maximum quality kinda strikes me. You better don’t miss them! This is awesome - YELLOW IS THE NEW PINK

"Mutiny on the Bounty Review"

'Mutiny are good, Mutiny are very good, urgent where they need to be, flowing and forward, to the point in a positive way. They say “our sound is something like straight mathy, time-signature-laden indierock/post-hc combining organic angularity with a taste for captivating melodies”, that’s just about right, and if that sounds like your kind of thing then Mutiny are very good at it. - ORGAN MAGAZINE

"Mutiny on the Bounty Danger Mouth Review"

(...) Mutiny On The Bounty has created a freshman album that delivers the post-core butter. It's something they'll have to live up to in the future, and I look forward to that. - Alt Sounds

"Das Elf-Finger-System"

Wie gesagt, keine Ahnung, wo Mutiny On The Bounty das herholen. Aber stammen The Notwist nicht auch aus fucking Weilheim? - Plattentests.de

Bio

MUTINY ON THE BOUNTY has seen the light of day in april 2004. Their sound can be described as urgent, straight mathy, time-signature-laden indierock with post hardcore appeal, com- bining organic angularity with a taste for captivating melo- dies. Bands like At The Drive-In, Minus The Bear, The Fall Of Troy, The Blood Brothers and North Of America may cross your mind when you listen to their sound. They love the epic, the sombre, the tragic, the geekship and the hispano flair.

During the month of august 2011, with a new line-up , Mutiny on the Bounty completed the recordings for their second album. The addition of Cedric Czaika on the bass and Clement Delporte on the guitar has allowed MOTB to kick things off again with a bang.

It must be said that since 2004, the Luxembourgish band has certainly not taken it easy (10 tours with over 400 concerts , supporting the likes of Franz Ferdinand, Kings of Leon, Coheed and Cambria, Portugal the Man or even And so i watch you from afar...) with some highlights along the way such as their recent appearance at the SXSW in Austin, Texas and the CMJ Music Marathon in New York.

The producer for the new album is non other than Matt Bayles, famous for his work with say Pearl Jam or Mastodon. The results of this collaboration reveal a new facet to their music.

Their mixture of mathrock now englobes more synthetic and electronic sounding elements (which is very noticeable in the guitar sounds that are sometimes closer to an organ or a keyboard than a guitar) and their songwriting is more varied and melodic than the past.

While prior to this, they might have preferred a more frontal attack with their music, they no longer hesitate to elaborate large and darker soundscapes without turning their back on the energetic math rock that formed their roots to begin with. In doing so, MOTB also have accentuated their geekier side which has also allowed them to be placed alongside other bands such as Battles and Foals, with whom they share a love and passion for creating music that is not only cerebral but also danceable.
