London, England, GBR

Mwen is a female vocalist/songwriter/drummer/programmer/producer playing music that fuses a number of genres with an electronic twist and catchy strong vocals.

Mwen's best known musical offerings were written and performed whilst as a vocalist with Leeds based live Drum and Bass band Hayashi. A successful 3 year run with Hayashi included a live performance for BBC Radio Humberside, a performance at Leeds Festival, support slots for Pendulum, Skream and Prime Cuts and culminated with the release of the album 'Bad Machine'.
In 2009, however, it was time to move on to fulfil an artistic mission of becoming a unique talent in the UK music scene as not only a vocalist but as a drummer, a songwriter, a performer, and in time, a producer.
In April 2010, after making a move to London, Mwen set about the task of writing, recording and producing her debut solo EP ‘Progress’. The compilation features tracks that fuse a number of genres and influences together with an electronic twist and catchy strong vocals. The EP moves from bittersweet summery pop with the song ‘Summer Solitude’ to the much darker trip-hop and dubstep inspired ‘Sahara’ with upbeat house, 2 step and drum & bass inspired songs in between.
Currently intensively rehearsing her live set, the next step will see Mwen performing extensively around London and eventually around the UK.
