Bio

MX missile has been performing progressive instrumental dance music across Canada, and local Calgary venues since mid 2006. MX Missile’s songs are all written, recorded and produced by the band. With very diverse influences, dance fusion and world beat is probably the best way to describe our choice of genres.

Current Activities: Debut Album
As of early 2010, the band has completed recording their debut album and they expect to release it in the spring of 2011. The album is an eclectic mix of traditional instrumental genres mixed with electronic influences.

After a short hiatus from gigging to focus on completing the album, and writing for the second album, MX Missile is looking forward to performing in 2011.

Second Album:
Writing and recording of MX Missile’s second album is well under way. Our second album will be much more vocal oriented with most tracks involving collaborations with vocalists and musicians.

Band Members:

Victor Laso has been playing drums, latin percussion, and improvised house music for over 25 years. He has played in original touring acts that include funk, metal and house genres. Victor is a very progressive drummer, often playing poly-rhythms.

Greg MacDonald is a multi-instrumentalist, recording engineer and a “jack of all trades” creative. Greg has played in several Calgary bands over the years. Greg currently plays bass in the roots/rock band The Species and keys/dub in the reggae act Bloom.

Jason is an improvisational jazz guitarist and an active player in several Calgary bands for 20 years. Jason has recorded on commercially produced jazz albums including his own jazz fusion act The Jason Kendall Trio and plays regularly with Calgary band Urban Divide.

Jae Cho joined the band in fall 2008. He is a diligent bass player who gigs with several Calgary bands in the jazz, rock, Celtic and blues genres. Jae also plays with Urban Divide.
