After years of performing and recording several albums with the Souldiers, the Dutch- New Zealand ensemble comprising Joost van Dyke, sister Cato van Dyke and New Zealand guitarist Daniel Johnston embarked on a new journey and formed My Baby in 2012. Spending a year in the Smusic studio in Amsterdam with producer Mickey Smid bore some strange fruit. It was a fertile creative hotbed, sonically echoing the delta of the deep south, and like musical stonemasons the threepiece carved a conceptual album out of the raw material they conceived and recorded, this became the album My baby loves Voodoo! In the course of that year funk legend Larry Graham, of Graham Central Station and Sly and the Family Stone fame, got hold of some of the unreleased tracks and being impressed he contacted them and invited the band to meet and join him at two of his shows in Holland as well as a performance on "De Wereld Draait Door", Holland's biggest live current affairs program. Since then My Baby's live act has developed a name for itself as an unrelenting voodoo trance experience combining folk and blues roots of the deep south and out-and-out funk and dance. gaining notoriety after performances at BNN Thats Live, Costa del Soul, Woodlands Festival, Edelwise Festival, and Magneet festival.

 My Baby's aim is to put you under her spell, fall into her voodoo trance and she'll command you to sing and dance or you'll turn to stone!

My Baby recently released their first album in the Netherlands and are now on worldtour visiting Hong Kong, New Zeeland, Australia and US. Their album will be released internationally later this year.
