"My Echo - Release Review"

Statistics seem to suggest some incompatibility between Australian locations and lyrics – you hear New York sung far more than Melbourne – but My Echo manage to cover a fair bit of this vast land on their self-titled EP, with pub-ready rock and an unmistakably Aussie voice to match. The crisp swagger and shuffle in the vitriolic verses of “Black Water Blues”, the hostile guitar takeover of the honky-tonk piano that opens “Bang Bang Bang”, and their tambourine-driven ode to music and the road “Veins” ensure the Melbourne quartet firmly attach a classic’n’roll to their brand of rock. They know it well enough to keep the pace throughout all six of these tracks, and well enough to stir some curiosity about what they’ll do when the full-length (hopefully) rolls around. - Blunt Magazine Australia

"Live Review - Pirie. St Social Club - Release Tour"

“The vocalist Brenton Perry takes you on a journey throughout the entirety of the set, making you want to dance till your legs fall off and sing along till you lose your voice to tracks like ‘Lonesome City‘ and ‘Black Water Blues‘.” –Chucking a Mosh - Chucking A Mosh

"Album Review"

“My Echo’s self-titled EP is impressive. Very impressive, indeed. It’s brutally honest, infectious and has enough rock swagger to put a lot of seasoned acts to shame. Without a doubt, this is one of the best releases you’ll hear this year.” –Push to Fire(5/5) - Push To Fire

Bio

Since forming in 2011, Melbourne’s My Echo have been on a consistent rise to prominence within the Australian music scene. It is a rise that has been achieved ‘the old fashioned way’ of climbing in a van and laying waste to rooms of all shapes and sizes all around the country, converting the masses one sweat-soaked rockabilly-infused rock song at at a time. In keeping with the organic nature of their rise in profile, the band’s latest release, the six-track EP My Echo (which can be streamed via ToneDeaf) was recorded live to tape at Melbourne’s Sing Sing Recording Studios, with renowned local producer Hadyn Buxton at the helm, and the results are nothing short of inspiring. An honest, raw and energetic recording that wears its heart on its sleeve, the EP is the perfect display of everything that is great about this band and serves as the perfect introduction for the uninitiated.

Highlighted by the rollicking lead single “Lonesome City” which has earned the band airplay on rock radio nationwide, My Echo looks set to provide the perfect metaphorical launching pad for this underrated and hardworking band’s journey to the stratosphere. On tour in support of the EP throughout 2014, My Echo appear predestined to take over the world, one discerning pair of ears and multiple pints of beer at a time.
