"CD REVIEW - THIS IS REAL LIFE"

My Evolution has produced a CD that is nothing short of fresh and exceptional with “This is Real Life.” Combining an obvious commercial musical appeal and clever lyrics that often have a seemingly double entendre make all eleven tracks a delight to listen to many times over. However commercial they may seem at first listen they are distinctly individualistic and outstanding in their sound.
Solid performances of guitars and drums mixed stunningly well with the clean vocals make so many of the tracks stand out as incomparable. They definitely have the rock and pop influences covered and add in an almost intangible edgy quality to all their tunes. This is especially true when having guest vocals as they do in two tracks on the CD. This edginess is particularly upped with the inclusion of Wayne from Static-X on their first single, “So Happy”, who brings out yet more of a metal side of rock on this great melodic track. Skillful use of electronic elements make “Here Today” and “2+2=5” obvious standouts on the CD for their ability to fuse those clean vocals and amazing instrumentation along with programming to produce tracks that implore to be placed on repeat. Worth mentioning is a cover of Duran Duran’s “Ordinary World” that is stellar in the manner that the band made the song their own musically yet kept the best elements from the original composition.
My Evolution has put forth a CD that defies a genre and brings something new to the rock scene that has indeed evolved rock to a new century with a witty new sound. It is captivating and creatively made music that seduces you to buy and listen often. This is just the first of many developing musical delicacies yet to come from My Evolution.

"Live Review - House Of Blues - W. Hollywood, CA 5/4/09"

House of Blues - West Hollywood, CA 5/4/09

The second band to take the stage was My Evolution, an impressive local act who seemed to be channeling the classic rock Gods. The band was in full form and their singer fell somewhere between a mix of Iggy Pop and Scott Weiland with a bit of Axl Rose thrown in for good measure. My Evolution was not only the highlight of the night, but one of the best surprises I have discovered in a long time. Their sound is powerful, their onstage performance is dynamic, and the momentum they exhibit is nothing short of brilliant.

The first opening band My Evolution was great, they started the show off with enthusiasm and humor. The lead singer reminded me of Scott Weiland!

The Rave - Milwaukee, WI 5/14/09

My Evolution got the crowd started. They performed a cover of Duran Duran’s “Ordinary World” which I thought was amazing. I love the charisma of the vocalist and the guitarist, as they seemed like they were having a conversation with the crowd. If I had to describe their sound on a performance-level, I felt that they were the most finessed out of the three opening bands, like hearing them live is probably like hearing them on record. I believe that they’ll make it big someday.

"Live Review - 2008"

Excerpts from Music Connection Magazine review:

The band plays a brand of rock & roll that is loud, fun and full of high-spirited energy. In fact, it’s the sort of contagious music that affects the audience so much, it inspires fans to become part of the excitement.
This is a group of rock-solid musicians. Burgos is the perfect front-man with a powerful stage presence and strong voice. M-Lo bounces around the stage and plays his axe with passion and energy. Micah’s drumming is as steady as it is aggressive and animated, with arms flying and sticks spinning.
Summary: The group’s music grabs you from the first beat of the kick drum and doesn’t stop until the last crash of the cymbals. Considering this stellar performance, it’s no wonder they’ve opened for several national acts.

"Live Review - 2007"

Excerpts from All Access Magazine review:

From the first note this is an assault, a non-stop rock and roll ride that barely slows down for a breath. This is a rock show, My Evolution style. As for the performance on stage…..Burgos’ stage presence is powerful, captivating, and engaging. M-Lo plays the guitar with lots of emotion and energy while bouncing back and forth along the stage like a rock and roll guitarist should. mO’s bass work is consistent and steady and a great compliment to Micah’s drum work. With plenty of style, presence, excellent musicianship, and professionalism, the guys in My Evolution give everything they have when they hit the stage.

"Live Review - 2006"

Excerpts from Rock City News review:

Most of the M.E. fans are of a younger generation, the sea of teens and 20-somethings that showed up in M.E. gear was impressive! My Evolution started out with a high energy song that rocked the house, gathered the crowd, and really impressed me. The rest of the set was amazing and audience participation was in full force as everyone sang along really loudly. They are hip enough to get true rockers completely entranced and the MTV generation hooked on their sound.
