As a relatively new band out of Dallas, Texas, My Friend Collin hit the scene on the run. Formed earlier this year in Feburary 2004, vocalist and songwriter Collin Henderson (21) joined lead guitarist Brian Johnson (25) to form the acoustic duo.
Before My Friend Collin was established, Collin Henderson took his solo act around Texas in venues throughout Dallas, College Station, and Austin. Collin performed at the NorthGate festival at College Station in 2001 as well as his most notable performance opening for Norah Jones and John Mayer in Austin at Stubbs.
Soon after My Friend Collin formed, the two song writers began to compose new material including 3 songs that were recently recorded by Harvey Gerst (The Byrds) at Indian Trials Recording in Denton, Texas. The group creates a very unique, raw style of acoustic rock that has a flavor of punk to top it off.
My Friend Collin is currently lining shows up in the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex including other Texas venues.
