Bio
Myke Rush has been a life long music fan since first hearing The Ramones and The Beach Boys at the young age of 10. His love of sweet melodies and melancholy tunes, combined with a natural talent, have fueled his passion for all things musical to this day.
Throughout his teenage years, Myke fronted several bands, touring through southwestern Ontario and Quebec. He was fortunate enough to open for bands such as Scratching Post and Super Garage throughout the 90s.
Fast forward a few years where Myke played as part of a duo with Lee Serviss from Far From Heroes. It was with this collaboration that they were voted 102.1 The Edge "Indie Band of the Month". They got to open for USS multiple times and for Monster Truck in 2011, handpicked as one of the opening acts for the "Everything To Do With Fred" show.
This success prompted Myke to record his first bedroom tape titled "Finland".
Having moved to Guelph, it took one open mic at The Cornerstone to catch the ear of Guelph's mayor (and music enthusiast) Cam Guthrie. From there, Myke was invited to open the downtown screening of the Tragically Hip concert along with local band The Speakeasies.
Myke has now, with some help from his buds, set off on a musical adventure with the recording of his second album Watermelancholyflower.
