Bio

My Loving Eyes Fastened is a soulful acoustic alternative rock project with an aggressive edge created by singer/songwriter Jacob Addicott. Coming from a hard rock background, My Loving Eyes Fastened has the power of a great rock band going unplugged. Addicott’s poetics gives the style mysticism, interweaving a beauty and a dark rage to help create his sound. With his voice, soulfulness, and hard rock background, Addicott, 23, brings versatility to the singer/songwriter genre with his new project called My Loving Eyes Fastened.

--You can take the boy from the rock, but not the rock from the boy--

In 2004, Addicott created and fronted a hard melodic rock band called Tragedy of Giving out of Gainesville. Tragedy of Giving’s song “Sink Slow” was featured on a Showtime Original episode of ‘Sleeper Cell’ in December of 2005. Further refining his distinctive approach and wanting something more, Addicott left Tragedy of Giving and began anew.

--If it’s holding your soul, you’ve got to let it go--

Jacob Addicott moved out to the west coast where he began working with producer Adam Rossi in Palo Alto, CA. Without going soft rock and without repeating Tragedy of Giving, Addicott showcases that he has found his own sound through the artistry of My Loving Eyes Fastened.

--This is it!--

This is the first studio EP from My Loving Eyes Fastened. The album is produced by Adam Rossi and features great musicians who are all linked to some of Addicott’s most influential artists. The album features drummers Steve Bowman (from The Counting Crows -August and Everything After) and Matt Lucich (who has worked with Snake River Conspiracy and Queensryche). Also featured are slide guitarist Bruce Kaphan (who has worked with John Lee Hooker, Jewel, David Byrne, and Jellyfish) and bassist, Mark Calderon (who has performed and recorded with Wycleff Jean of the Fugees, Carter Beauford of Dave Matthews Band, and Dr. John).
