My Pilot

My Pilot

Some people say we're slightly lo-fi and shambolic. That's not deliberate, we just are. But we're still pretty ok, we think, in a sort of pop-rock-country-blues-folk kind of way. Oh and we're all very handsome and charismatic.

My Pilot started life as a bedroom project by Co Antrim native Neill Dougan. After a while it became a proper band (after a fashion) when he roped in his brother Ross on guitars along with reprobate associates Richie Averill (Malahide, on bass) and Brian McElroy (Waterford, on simultaneous drums and keyboards, which is quite a skill).

The band's debut EP, ‘Spiders’ consists of five tracks of slightly messed-up pop recorded in the band’s own studio, also known as Neill’s bedroom. It was mixed by Neill, mastered by noted Dublin producer Steve Fanagan of Northstation renown ( and is released on the band’s own label, Less Deceived Records.

My Pilot are currently gigging in Dublin (next gig is in Whelans on March 31st) and are hard at work on their second EP 'Hot Blood' and their full-length debut album 'For Winter', both of which will be released in 2011 (if they can afford it).
