My Plastic Sun EP

My Plastic Sun is a new band that major indie blogs have been comparing to Radiohead, Coldplay, Beach House…and the Beatles. A sample of some of the reviewers and bloggers recent comments:

“Cummings’ vocals sound like the voice of Coldplay and Radiohead’s indie baby lovechild.” Indie Shuffle
“Give It All Away”, is an absolute gem”, “Johnny’s vocals really shine”, “the EP is a strong debut from a band who I confidently predict will go far.” ListenBeforeYouBuy
“An incredibly appealing and strong debut EP.” LittleLionGirl

“The band have a sense of rock ‘n’ roll tenderness that recalls Blur circa 1999 and dare-I-say The Beatles. Quite frankly, the heartbreaking “Give it All Away” is simply that good. Don’t believe me? Listen for yourself.” UK’s GivePopAChance

“This release is the product of musicians with stratospheric levels of talent creating spectacular melodies colored with gorgeous layering, pop sensibilities and immediately memorable lyrics.” UpstateLive

The lead singer Johnny Cummings is a virtuoso keyboard player and guitarist. Roy Stein plays drums, guitars, keys and various percussion instruments. He is also a studio wizard who oversees the recording and production of the material. Sam Snyder is a 21 year old lead guitar phenomenon who has been turning heads in upstate NY this past year. Their combined talents produce a unique sound that is lush and ambient yet immensely powerful.

The band is currently engaged on multiple fronts. Two time Emmy award winning cinematographers the Olson Brothers heard Give It All Away on the internet and offered to create the band’s first music video. The band is also in the recording studio finishing off their first full length CD while at the same time gearing up for live shows. 2012 is gonna be a very busy and promising year for My Plastic Sun.
