I was born and raised on the French Shore of Clare, Digby County NS in a small village called "Woodvale" and if you know anything about music, then you know that us "french acadians" love having kitchen parties! That is where I first realised that Music was in my soul!
I was raised with a love for music coming directly from a musical background dating as far back as the 1900s and as far away as Louisiana. My family tree boasts very musical relatives, including Ron Black Guidry (The Cajun Man) who is seen on many TV commercials. You may recognize his "AIYEEE" for KIA, which helped to make him well known in the TV and music biz.
I began singing as soon as I could talk, but I didnt take it too seriously until 10 years ago, when I decided that I would pursue a career in country music. I have won several local talent contests including the Western Nova Scotia Exhibition, The Blue Live Talent Contest, and also was a finalist in the Little Nashville Idol contest in Dartmouth, NS. I also qualified as one of the finalists in CMT Project Discovery 2001, in Bridgewater, NS.
I have performed for many venues and bars but the some of my favorites are : The RCMP Musical Ride, with the First woman Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia "The Honorable Myra Freeman" in Attendance.
I have also been priviledged to perform for The New York Islanders training camp for the last 2 years in Yarmouth.
Some of my Greatest influences are Martina McBride, Jodi Messina, Patsy Cline and so many other great women in music.
I guess to sum it all up, I just love country music!
