Bio

Currently based in Berlin, Myriad Creatures are a four-piece from London who formed with the intention of touring hard to get their music heard. Their sound – described by Unpeeled as “intelligent, dirty, melodic indie rock” – has drawn comparisons with The White Stripes and The Stone Roses.
Armed with only their songs, equipment and an antique cricket bat for protection, the Creatures have spent the last year gigging their way around the British Isles and Eastern Europe.
Touring has been high on the Creatures’ agenda since Day One. Having loft-insulated their old Ford Transit, stuck its wing mirrors back on with Gaffer tape and renamed it ‘The Myriad Falcon’, the Creatures were soon ready to hit the road. Since then the Myriad Falcon has safely carried them from Dundee to Dresden and from Prague to Pontefract.
With two UK tours under their belts – funded entirely by selling their own CD’s and including support slots with Little Man Tate and Yeti – the Creatures have sold-out the Camden Barfly and MONTO Water Rats in London. In December 2006 the band received an offer to play in an East Berlin club in return for studio space. Disillusioned with the saturation of the London scene and thirsty for an adventure, the offer came as a
welcome surprise to the band.
So, following in the footsteps of their heroes Iggy, Bowie and The Hoff, the Creatures packed their lives into the trusted Falcon and chugged their way to East Berlin. After spending the first few weeks squatting and freezing in an abandoned building with no electricity or running water, the Creatures set up their studio in a former Stazi listening post and got to work. With their highly energetic live show and guerrilla gigs, it didn’t
take long for them to establish themselves on the Berlin scene and attract attention from
the German press. The Creatures have since received regular airplay throughout Germany and currently have a residency at the legendary Café Zapata, the epicentre of the Tacheles Arts Community.
The band have found staunch supporters in London independent, Jackalope who will release their debut single ‘The Hero’ on November 12th. Tasty Fanzine has described the song as ‘marching music for an indie guitar army’. Brace yourselves for the Myriad
invasion!
