Bio
Mystic Gorilla, a name inspired by a business association, is a spoken word artiste like no other.
A diverse background; Mystic Gorilla has been a champion ice hockey and volleyball player and swimmer. His studies have allowed for interaction with people of varying cultures and beliefs as he attended an international college with over seventy five nations represented. He was also a participant in the World Scholar Athlete Games prior to representing Jamaica in volleyball. He holds a B.Sc. in Computing with Management Studies from the University of Technology, Jamaica and has served in the military reserves as an officer.
As a youth Mystic Gorilla was a prolific writer, at many times writing in excess of three stories per day. This took a break for while however and was re-inspired by the events of 9/11. The spark had been reignited, this time with a poetic flavour.
The words of this mystic man are powerful and thought provoking. Now is the time for the awakening. Mystic Gorilla has arrived.
This being of light prophesies through his work and forces the listener to look within; asking profound questions and giving divine answers; “I am sovereign, a nation unto I-self.” This line taken from “Blasphemy” begs the question: What does it mean to truly be free?
He provokes the status-quo, encouraging “a commercially intelligent law governing the ganja industry” in his piece which is a memorandum from the people to Jamaica’s Prime Minister entitled, “The People’s Message.”
Such a passionate performer, he seems to carry you to his distant world of esoteric words and a surplus of love. “You wrote the Gospel of Mary, it was influenced by me,” says Mystic Gorilla in a gentle tone from a love piece for his wife.
You cannot control your desire to listen and be inspired in the presence of Mystic Gorilla.
