Mystic Highway is two women, two voices, two guitars. Powerfully haunting harmonies interwoven with innovative folk guitar. The rich fabric of their songs is textured with Sarah's soaring vocal sound and Robin's sultry, smoky style; a result, many say, "borders on the mystical."

Biography

Boulder Colorado based singer/songwriters Sarah Kelton and Robin Richardson join together as "Mystic Highway"; a collaborative music project in the genre of soulful folk. Mystic Highway weaves individual songs into a tapestry of harmonically rich vocals and lyrical acoustic guitar. Kelton and Richardson are stunning solo performers in their own right; each with extensive recording and performance backgrounds. However, when blending Sarah's soaring vocal sound with Robin's sultry, smoky style, the result, many say, "borders on the mystical."
Sarah and Robin met as a result of a "songwriter in the round" performance at Boulder's famous Pennylane. The response was enthusiastic, and encouraged the duo to expand their musical visions together. In doing so, they discovered a common intention to share their music as a vehicle for peace and healing. This theme is evident in the lyrical content and emotional spirit of their performances.
In October 2005, after performing throughout the Boulder/Denver area, Mystic Highway teamed up with Grammy Award winning producer Tom Wasinger to begin their first recording project. That following December, they had their first television debut on Jann Scott Live. Soon after, Sarah and Robin worked with production duo Ryan and Ryan Inc. to record their first EP. With new recordings in hand, they left for their tour of the United Kingdom.
Mystic Highway played packed performances across Holland, England, Ireland and Scotland. In County Clare, Ireland, the center of the Irish folk scene, the duo played a live show on Clare FM. (Their inspired performance can be heard on www.sarahkelton.com ) This tour was a successful musical adventure; they were consistantly met by welcoming audiences with a deep appreciation for their songs. In addition, the duo was invited back for a more expansive tour next spring.
This has been an exciting year for Mystic Highway. While continuing with their busy performance schedule, Sarah and Robin also fit in live radio shows, began preparations for a spring festival tour, and are also working towards completing their first full cd together.
Mystic Highway has now teemed up with nationally recognized guitarist/producer Lynn Patrick to produce and engineer the record. They anticipate a complete album filled with impassioned melodies, uplifting lyrics, and finely crafted harmonies.
Mystic Highway is thankful for the opportunities that have arisen in 2006, and they have their sights set on the abundant unfolding of their growing music career.

Home

Written By: Sarah Kelton

If there is a moon I can't see it tonight
It's hard to see you inside the candlelight
won't you light me up and show me where I'm blind
so I might find my home

Well I believe you are my sacred medicine
Come to me in dreams at night and meditation
you see right through me and know what I cannot
but I have gt to go home

how long must I be unaware
my power is here is to share
how long must I be unaware
my power is here to share

well if there is a moon I cant see it tonight
its hard to see you inside the candlelight
wont you light me up and show me where Im blind
so I can find my home

Burned Away

Written By: Robin Richardson

He started to cheat at the same age his Daddy did and oh how he swore he'd never be like him.

She started to crumble, tumble down insanity's well, the private hell her mother fell in.

You don't have to walk the same road down. Don't you make the same mistakes, when you runaway you just become the thing that you hate. Its those seeds you carry buried deep inside. You either learn to forgive or you just repeat, you just relive.

Its the human fate. Its the human way. You either face those seeds of truth or you become the thing you hate. Baby face the fire. Walk right through. What gets burned away was never really you.

Her mama turned her head away didn't wanna see the pain in her little girl's face....cause he was such a good provider. Don't you lie like that, how did you forget so soon?

You don't have to walk the same road down. Don't you make the same mistake, when you runaway you just become the thing that you hate. Its those seeds you carry buried deep inside, you either learn to forgive or you just repeat the lie.

Its the human fate. Its the human way. You either face those seeds of truth or you become the thing you hate. Baby face the fire. Walk right through. What gets burned away was never really you.
