Mystic Lyric

Mystic Lyric(born as Mynell Ferraro) has been singing and dancing since she was an infant, humming tunes before she even learned how to speak, and dancing and singing on the kitchen table at home, pretending that it was a stage. Basically, she's been dreaming out loud since that tender infant age. At the age of 7 she began singing her own songs, writing them in her head, walking around the house singing them aloud. At 13 years of age, she was watching MTV one day and came across a young 21 year old artist, Alicia Keys, singing her debut song, "fallin". Lyric immediately started to idolize her. Lyric was so intrigued by Keys' originality and musicality that it inspired her to approach a piano one day and began playing. She briefly went for piano lessons, learning the basics, and picked up the rest on her own. At 15 years of age, a cousin of hers', who shared her own works of poetry to her, inspired Mystic Lyric to pen down her own works of poetry, which led to writing her songs on paper. At 16 she successfully had her breakthrough of talent at the apollo theater, as everyone cheered her on. She was singing her favorite artist's song, "fallin" by Alicia Keys. At 18, She was inspired by the artist, India Arie's smooth guitar playing and the lyricism in her writing. Lyric also was inspired by Lauryn Hill and her lyricism as well. Lyric learned that Lauryn Hill played the guitar,watching Hill's unplugged show on MTV. After watching that show, it led to Lyric picking up a guitar, getting her first owned guitar at 18. She loves to read novels and books of poetry. she started writing more enhanced lyrics to the accompaniment of the guitar. Also, because of her love poetry, became a Def Poetry Jam fan, which enhanced her writing as well. Therefore, She writes all her songs on both the piano and guitar, being a musician and singer-songwriter.
