Biography

The Toronto-based "Mystics" has been singing together since the late '60s. They have been adding their own special touch to Reggae and R&B music and has even done a bit of gospel. Louis O'Connor, Rupert Hurlock and Winston Thinka Francis who are the original Mystics was later joined by Carlton (Ras Simbaa) Harrison forming the current foursome. They later added six musicians and became a ten-member band. Known for their flashy dressing and unique style, the group accompanied by their band literally dominated the local entertainment scene.
The JUNO nominated Mystics has performed at weddings, private and public events, hotels, festivals, colleges and universities and community events. No strangers to center stage, they have shared many a performance with the likes of The Drifters, Freddie McGregor, Toots, Third World, John Holt and many more. In 1961 their CD "The Way I Feel" copped a JUNO nomination. The tracks on the CD are - Donna, I'm Still In Love, Stick By Me, I'll Be Waiting, Yesterday, Float On, The Way I Feel, Daddy's Home, Stir It Up, Sweet Jamaica (feat. Recently they shared the stage with The Fab 5 Band along with Judy Mowatt, former member of Bob Marley's I-Threes at the Hummingbird Centre.
