Bio

Melodious Grooves! Male and Female lead vocalists provide a broad range of original and cover songs to the band's repertoire. The combined experience of the band with their love of reggae music and the variety of musical influences that each member brings, gives Mystic Vibe a depth of feeling and coheasiveness to their sound.

Alayna

Singing from childhood in church, to jingles as a teenager, all the way to a reggae band in Dallas, the highlights of her career include but are not limited to: (1) Opening act with DaNuMan for Red Hot Chili Peppers, Ziggy Marley, Joan Armatrading, Bad Brains, Flaming Lips and Burning Spear. (2) Traveling to Jamaica to record at Tuff Gong studios with original Wailers: Familyman Barrett and Wire Lindo. (3) Moving to New York to play CBGB, The Marque, The Bitter End, etc. with Jane On A Vine (4) Recording “Live at The Red Blood Club” with Junius Heights.

Kumba

Born in St. Kitt, Kumba has been playing reggae the world over. He has a loyal following because he brings a genuine vibe of positive energy to the stage that has audiences flocking to the dance floor. Kumba is a soulful singer and guitarist who is highly sought after to record his guitar leads and vocals and has toured most recently with Love Uprising and Leroy Shakespeare.

Dyrol (Spice) Randall

The driving energy for the group, Dyrol began playing drums in his teens and gravitated to the roots of reggae in his 20’s. He has since recorded and performed live for numerous Jamaican and American artists: George Nooks, Professor Nuts, Voice Mail; Cabaret Acts in Jamaica such as Soul for Soul, Claudette Miller, Stevie Culture and Exodous. Other artists Dyrol has worked with are: Courtney Sinclair and Fritz (Buju Banton); Bassist, Trevor (Deres Hammond); Bassist, Bale Haslam (Jimmy Cliff), keyboardist, Handy (Luciano); keyboardist, Lamar (Stephen Marley) and Original bassist for Morgan Heritage, Neville. Dyrol recently performed at The Van Cliburne Arts Society’s reggae workshop and tribute concert and will return in the fall for an encore performance. Dave Burris - Guitar / Art Riddles - Keyboards

On “loan” from Leroy Shakespeare and Ship of Vibes, Dave and Art joining Mystic Vibe adds the final dimension to the rich blend of Alayna’s vocals, Kumba’s guitar and vocals, over an award winning Reggae Rhythm section led by drummer Dyrol Randall. Both longtime veterans of the Dallas jazz and reggae scene, Dave and Art bring a wealth of musical and professional experience to the band and have a built in chemistry w/Alayna and Kumba having played with them in past bands, DaNuMan and Leroy Shakespeare, repectively.
