Latest Single - Around My Way

Feeling a bit camera shy

After establishing himself on the London underground circuit in the late 90’s, the Mighty Mys – who is also one half of the Natural Born Spittaz crew alongside regular partner in rhyme Jargon – has built a reputation as one of UK hip-hop's brightest vocal talents, releasing a string of critically acclaimed solo singles and EPs, as well as lending his skills to releases by a who’s who of British heavy weights, including Blak Twang, Rodney P and SkinnymanTy.

This impressive track record has led to Mystro recording and performing with a slew of legendary international artists, from Junior Reid and Dawn Penn through to Wu-Tang Clan and KRS-One. He’s also toured extensively from Europe to Australasia, earning a reputation for his razor-sharp wit and refreshing originality both on-stage and in the studio.

The skills don’t stop there, though. Mystro is also an in demand Master of Ceremonies, hosting gigs from Dublin to Dubai and earning the title of ‘Best Host’ award at the UK Hip Hop Awards for two years running. Gaining new notoriety with – Mystro currently hosts a monthly online series dubbed ‘Mystro Investigates…’ where he delves into popular UK pastimes - everything from horse riding to circus training, acupuncture to ‘laugh classes’ - for your viewing pleasure. Add gigs for major brands like Nike, Adidas and MTV, charity work and a lead role and writing credits for the play ‘Da Boyz into the mix, and it becomes clear that this Natural Born Spitta is a man of many talents.

Mystro is now hard at work on his debut long player, Mystrogen (which is due to be released in early 2011), putting everything he’s got into creating a record which is already hotly anticipated from the UK to all the way Down Under. He began feeding the fire in 2009 by with Mystro Presents F.D.T. (F**k Da Taxman), a hard-hitting seven track EP released on his own independent label Don’t Biznizz which showcased a darker side to the normally playful M.C.’s repertoire.

The next step in the journey towards Mystrogen‘s release is the Digmund Freud EP, which is scheduled for release in September 2010 through Don’t Biznizz and DJ Flip’s Self Destruct Music. This new release sees Mystro engrossed in a one-on-one conversation with his alter ego Dr. Freud, backed by production from Flip, UK hip hop legend Jehst, and Kiss100’s DJ Swerve, who has cooked up a future classic in the form of first single ‘Around My Way’, which was released on 5 July 2010.

Everything Mystro has achieved so far has been done without the aid of management or major label backing – an accomplishment in itself. Armed only with his initiative and undeniable talent, Mystro has bubbled just below the surface for long enough. Now, it’s time to take it above ground for hip hop fans and good music lovers alike. Don’t sleep on the mighty Mystro. Domination is imminent…stay tuned.
