"The Metal Marches On"

This five piece evil-ution of death metal from Beliot Wisconsin has had quite the journey since that first show @The OverFlowing Cup on July 18th 2006. At that time they were a four piece. Since then two of the original members have moved on to other things. They have added a brilliant second guitarist Replaced the Bass player with a friend of the band. And most recently replaced the vocalist.
A lot of bands would not have been able to regroup after so many set backs. But this is not just any band. Despite the fact that they are one of the youngest bands in the local Metal circle. They conduct themselves like seasoned pros and their sound continues to grow as they do. And they respect and appreciate all of the bands who have embraced them and taken them under their wings so to speak.
I have had conversations with MAN MADE MAN frontman Sean Virgin time and time again about how much he admires them. "It's like watching your kids grow up.. You see them take their first step. Next thing you know they're running all over the fucking place"
Having seen them quite a few times myself...I must confess that they are the best that they have ever been. In their last few shows there has been a driving presence that was hidden in the past. And one of the proudest moments in my life was when Alex told me he was getting a ReVoLuTioN Tattoo. (I seriously almost cried) I'm honored brother!!
My first impression of them was back in early 2007 in a battle of the bands. Though they did not win the battle..they earned the respect of everyone involved and a few new fans. Later that year they donated their time and talent to a Fund Raiser for The American Heart Association. When I asked them to join The 4-R Heart Foundation to fight heart disease they did not hesitate. Now they are in a battle of another kind. It seems that the recordings that they have poured every fiber of their being into. Are being held by the producer and that IS FUCKED UP!! (Please release"BLOOD RED SKIES")
Of course I have only heard one side of the story so I won't go too far into it. But I did attempt to contact the Producer in question to no avail.
Though they encounter obstacle, after obstacle, after obstacle. They maintain their relentless tenacity and optimism. Pile into the Big Ass MYUCUSS MOBILE. And do show, after show, after show.
I asked Frontman/Lyricist Corey"METAL MOSES"Lynch what the message behind the music was. His response was very simple and poetic... "Use me..Abuse me,I'll stand tall after all."
Well put my friend...and in the end "The Metal Marches On"

Five local musicians have the chance to be big winners at this years Rockford Area Music Industry (RAMI) with a nomination for “best new act.”

This is the first RAMI award nomination for the Stateline Area band.

Myucuss members Alex Bingham and Tim Morgan began forming the band in 2006. Within that year, the band had a few members changes and it's first show at The Overflowing Cup in Beloit.

Band members currently include Bingham (guitar/back-up vocals), Morgan (drummer), Kyle Siverhus (lead guitar), Cory Nemetz (bassist), Corey Lynch (vocals). All members are from the Stateline Area.

According to band manager George Bingham, all members of Myucuss (pronounced mucus) are self-taught musicians that practice in his dining room in the Merrill neighborhood of Beloit.

Although the new American molodic metal band plays mostly original music, they are known to play a few cover songs too. Myucuss has recorded several CD demos which are sold at the merchandise table during shows. The band also sells shirts, buttons and stickers.

Myucuss appreciates all of the support their fan base gives them and are especially appreciative of their manager, who books and promotes shows and even bought the band a tour bus.

Although the band isn't quite touring yet, Myucuss has played numerous shows in the last two and a half years in Beloit, Madison, Milwaukee, Rockford and Chicago. They also have been interview on radio station 104.9 WXRX in Rockford.

Myucuss has played with several national bands including Static X, Otep, Unearth, Emmure, Sworn Enemy, Within Chaos, Man Made Man, Threshold, Marc Rizzo, Born of Osyris, Lockjaw and several local and regional bands.

Upcoming shows include a Valentines Day bash at LT's Bar & Grill in Rockford for the 4-R Heart Foundation fundraiser and a multi-band show at Beloit Moose Lodge on March 21. Myucuss hopes to play at Riverfest in the future.

“It would mean the world to all the members and give them a sense of pride,” manager Bingham said about the possible festival gig.

Besides wanting to play at larger venues, Myucuss is keeping themselves busy with their music and keeping fans happy.
