Bio

Chanteuse Extraordinaire Mz. T. Lowe has been entertaining for over 40 years. In her earlier years, she studied various instruments, including piano, clarinet, and saxophone. She is one of very few vocalists that actually incorporates vocal instrumentation into her performance. You may hear a muted trumpet, wailing trombone, or cool bass. A fifth-generation Texan, Mz. T. Lowe was literally conceived and born into a musical family. Her parents, Clarence and Billye Brooks, were both vocalists that toured with an a capella choir, Wings Over Jordan. “Music is like oxygen to me; I must have it. I have so many types of music in my bloodstream, that it’s difficult to decide what I like doing. I grew up in the church singing and playing piano. I was classically trained on clarinet for seven years, and played four years of jazz on alto sax.

She sings Gospel, swings Jazz, belts the Blues, croons a Ballad, and chows down on some R&B. “I like to spin a story with my music, and give the listening party something they can personally relate to. I am a woman with different emotions, and I just like to open up and share that with you," she quotes.

She's played several venues in the San Francisco Bay Area. Most notably the Plush Room, Top of the Mark, Harry Denton’s Starlight Room, Geoffrey’s Inner Circle, Boom Boom Room, Octavia Lounge, Savanna Jazz, to name a few. She’s also been a guest on vocalist Frankye Kelly’s cable tv program, Jazz With Frankye.

Chances are you will not be disappointed when you hear Mz. Lowe sing. It is a treat that you definitely do not want to miss.
