Fusing the sounds of the underground with surreal visuals, N I T E F I S H is carving out a space of his own.

Based in Dublin and Stockholm, N I T E F I S H is a new audio-visual project slowly infiltrating the digital swamplands with electronic punk music made from glitched-out projections and mangled sounds. His music reflects the broad following of punks, ravers, and noise-heads that have started to coalesce around the project's explosive performances at both late-night open airs in the forests of Stockholm and indie gigs around Dublin.

His new single 'Moneyfuck,' is similarly an eclectic mix of forward-thinking styles. Drawing as much from industrial hip-hop and gabber music as post-punk and no-wave, the track features instrumentals made from the warped images and sounds of a private jet commercial.

Taking influence from the climate actions led by Extinction Rebellion and the Kurdish liberation movements in northern Syria, as well as the work of sci-fi writer William Gibson and solarpunk literature, the single's banal and oftentimes surreal lyrics use dark humor to both stare at the abyss and find in it a flashlight to chase away the bats.


Perhaps the most compelling aspect of N I T E F I S H is his live performances which marry mosh-pit fervour with art-gallery charm. Accompanied by a projector that paints his performance space with grotesque and psychedelic imagery, he delivers a wholly mesmerizing show. An audio-visual, solo punk-infused electro project based in Dublin and Stockholm, N I T E F I S H has certainly made a strong and favourable impression with their debut single, Ibiza.

Opening with a suffocating, percussive blast and a vocal delivery that wouldn’t be amiss on a rock track, it’s a challenging, confrontational melange of sounds and styles. The track inhabits a similar conceptual space to acts like Death Grips and Liars, but at times the wall of exhilarating noise invites favourable comparisons with Merzbow. For all that though it’s still an accessible slice of experimental electronica, in no small part due to the edgy, but relatable vocals.
