Biography

Born in Dakar, of a malian mother and a Guinean father, Naby grew to Mbour in Senegal. His very personal melodic style is accents reggae hip-hop tinged with jazz, but also with soul and with funk. His musical career begins in 1996 with the group of rap Peace and Peace. His first hits appear on the major compilations of the Senegalese hip-hop. Naby multiplied his collaborations with the most varied artists: in particular with Douggytee, Awadi and the group Sikki Sakka ( hip-hop), Loan ( électro), Boudhasticks (reggae), No Water Please ( brass band)... Naby released his first solo album "DEM NAA" produced by its own label Demrek RecordZ and registered "Live in studio" in Dakar and Paris. Naby built himself a dynamic, powerful and very melodic Universe. He created an authentic, modern and cross over African music. Composer-songwriter, Naby gets his inspiration from his daily environment and sings the obstacles of life in wolof. Naby honours the women and sings his love for them in " Suma rérée ". His texts speak about the everyday life of the African young people and each can see himself there. In "Mbek mi" in duet with Black G, he speaks with frankness of the secret immigration, a taboo and debated subject.

In 2009, Naby released his first solo album "DEM NAA" produced by its own label Demrek RecordZ and registered "Live in studio" in Dakar and Paris. His hit "Dem Naa" has a lot of radio airplay in Africa and in France
