Nakula

Nakula formed with the inspiration to present a cross-cultural multi-arts performance at Splendour in the Grass. A fusion of Indonesian gamelan, flamenco music, Spanish vocals, bass & keys, Indonesian & flamenco dance with sprinklings of electronica. A once only unique event that layed the foundation for the years to come.

Since that time Nakula has performed at festivals around
Australia and has been supporting grass-roots, multicultural & community causes.

At its heart Nakula is a 2 piece live/electro world music project, expanding the line-up depending on the performance event. Dharma is at the helm working with Ableton Live on his laptop as the technical & digital control centre. Playing soft synths, bass, bamboo flutes, percussion & vocals live. Bunnys original song lyrics comprise a combination of spanish & english, with words that speak of burning love, cultural roots, social consciousness, pain & positivity.

Our influences & stylistic bent include.....trip hop, dub, breakbeat, chill/lounge, asian flavours, latin & world beat.

Adaptation is our ethos.
