Bio
Names Divine is the live multiplication of Kendra Calhoun's solo recording project, Call Me on the Allophone which started in early 2007 in Washington, DC. She moved to Chicago in late 2007 to be concentrated within her jazz, experimental, and noise influences. She imitates her favorite sounds and songs playing a unique style of clean electric lead guitar with Jillian Musielak on sparse percussion accents and an ancestral calling bird flute.
Since moving to Chicago she has met the most supportive, talented, and intuitive musicians on the planet and tries to play with them as often as possible, begging them to perform with Names Divine to elaborate on universal understanding and to her utmost gratitude and delight, they often succumb.
Since she moved to Chicago she regularly plays in art spaces, warehouses, and the occassional club, and plans to only record, produce, and tour til death doth she part.
She is also a video artist incorporating a visual response to her sound, when a projector is available.
